12 Apr 2019 | 6 years ago

Generic Mapping Tools (GMT) is an open source software with more than 50 tools to describe geographic and cartesian maps, drawings, graphs or diagrams, contours, trends, projections, filtering, and other data applications. So in this case, the focal mechanism will be obtained in the form of a beach ball that will represent the 3-dimensional character of the emitted seismic wave and the relation with geological structure. The focal mechanism provides additional information about earthquake parameters such as earthquake fault types. Fault can be distinguished into three (3) basic movement forms, namely: strike slip fault, normal fault and reverse fault The dominant Fault direction in this area is dominant reverse fault in the south or Timor Through of Timor Island, strike slip fault in West of Timor Island thrust fault in the north of research area and the normal fault in east of Timor Island. For more information and high-quality resolution of the Map, and for each part direction map please feel free to contact the IPG office, at Rua, Delta I, Aimutin, Comoro, Dili, Timor-Leste, Office Number (+670-3310179).
